Earlier this week Anheuser-Busch InBev promised two star-studded Super Bowls ad for Bud Light, which is getting a new tagline, “The Perfect Beer for Whatever Happens.”
Today the brand released teasers for the ads, which include Arnold Schwarzenegger, Don Cheadle, comedian/musician Reggie Watts and a llama. The campaign is the debut work for BBDO, which won the account last year.
“Our six Super Bowl ad teasers give viewers a peek behind the curtain, but fans will have to tune-in during the game to see how these seemingly unrelated events form one cohesive story,” Bud Light VP Rob McCarthy said in a statement, adding that the campaign will include “five special cameos.” The teasers are expected to run throughout the weekend during sports programming. The New York Post on Friday reported Mr. Schwarzenegger would be paid $3 million for his appearance.

Fashion designer John Varvatos has landed his self-described heroes, rock band KISS, as the extremely made-up face of his spring 2014 collection advertising campaign, inspired by one of the band’s most iconic album covers.
“The idea was to do something that was against the grain, groundbreaking, and disruptive. KISS are all of the above and that’s what rock ‘n’ roll is supposed to be,” said Mr. Varvatos via email from Milan, Italy. He called the band “super heroes” and said creating the new campaign has been a highlight of his careerand of his life.
The feeling is mutual. “John Varvatos is the epitome of rock ‘n’ roll fashion and we couldn’t be more honored to be a part of his legacy,” said Paul Stanley of KISS in a statement.

When it comes to fashion, facial tissue is nothing to sneeze at anymore. Kleenex has enlisted designer Isaac Mizrahi for a new marketing campaign and collection of tissue boxes, as the brand already known for novel oval and fruit-inspired wedge boxes looks to take its design to the next level.
A design-focused campaign kicks off with a TV ad from JWT, New York, breaking Jan. 6 showing Kleenex boxes as part of colorful home designs as the Kimberly-Clark Corp. brand looks to burnish its credentials as a trendsetter in home dcor.
Mr. Mizrahi will contribute to the style-focused Style Studio microsite for Kleenex, which is wrapped up with the celebration of the brand’s 90th anniversary. The site, among other things, points out that Kleenex boxes have twice been featured in New York’s Metropolitan Museum of Art.

The cable programmer said it consulted with advocacy groups and decided it will use the backlash as a teachable moment, launching a national public service campaign across its entire portfolio of networks promoting unity, tolerance and acceptance among all people.

Mighty Wings failed to fly mainly because they were too spicy and too pricey. The wings were sold in packs of three, five or 10 wings starting at $2.99, indicating a discount may be on the horizon to clear out all of that surplus inventory.

Three new ad spending forecasts released Sunday night are pegging ad growth next year partly on the Winter Olympics, the World Cup and the mid-term elections in the U.S., but forecasters continued to regard Western Europe with caution.
WPP’s GroupM revised its worldwide advertising spending forecast for 2014 downward to 4.6% from 5.1%, its prediction earlier this year, citing “economic gridlock in the U.S. and a persistent financial crisis in the Eurozone.” The media agency network is now forecasting an increase in global spending from $508 billion in 2013 to $531 billion in 2014.
In Western Europe, the group is projecting a 1% decrease in spending in 2013 and, tentatively, an end to declines next year. “We predict Western Europe advertising will return to modest 2% growth in 2014, but this depends on stability being restored to the troubled Eurozone periphery,” the GroupM report said.
