Masked gunmen shouted “Allahu akbar!” as they stormed the offices of satircal magazine
Charlie Hebdo during an editorial meeting on Jan. 7. They killed
10 journalists and two police officers. Eleven others were wounded. The magazine had printed cartoons depicting the Prophet Muhammad.
A massive manhunt that consumed France for the next three days ended during
two hostage seiges that took place simultaneously, one in a kosher market and another in a warehouse near the Charles
