Yes, we’ll still have Stephen Colbert — the actual human being who has been playing a blowhard pundit on Comedy Central’s “The Colbert Report” for 10 seasons (and before that on “The Daily Show With Jon Stewart”) — when he takes over for David Letterman on CBS’s “Late Show” sometime in 2015 (date TBD). But with the series finale of “The Colbert Report” on Dec. 18, we’re losing Stephen Colbert’s trademark “Stephen Colbert” character.
This makes my heart and my head hurt.

The change will not apply to all of a brands’ posts, just the less creative ones that fit certain criteria, like pushing people to buy a product, install an app or enter a contest or sweepstakes. Also under fire: posts that are just repurposed ads.

Lions Gate Entertainment and Dutch media company Imagine Nation are teaming up for the production and will raise the curtain on the live action drama in 2016, the companies said today. They’re using what they call immersive staging techniques in a purpose-built theater next to Wembley Stadium.

But one agency has said enough with boring, old and slow real-time marketing. It’s time to evolve — or perhaps evolute — real-time into the next big thing. So Toronto-based shop John St., the agency that brought us Catvertising, is introducing Reactvertising.
“It’s not about being funny or smart. It’s about being fast,” says one of the agency’s 2,800 new speedwriters in this promotional video. “So now we just write whatever pops into our heads.”

The first ad to run on the ephemeral messaging service debuted on Saturday and promoted Universal Pictures’ upcoming horror film “Ouija,” which is based on the spooky board game. Snapchat had announced Friday that the service’s first ad would appear in users’ feeds over the weekend.
The ad — which can be viewed below as an animated GIF — appeared under the “Recent Updates” tab in Snapchat users’ friends list and carried a “sponsored” label. To watch the ad, people needed to click the entry and hold their finger on their phones’ screen for the duration, as with viewing any other content on Snapchat.
